Takuya Reviews Special Edition! “Digimon World”

In honor of the former heroes of the Digimon series returning in Digimon Hunters I figured I should do a review of something Digimon, but what was the question.
Reviewing any the seasons would mean that I would have to rewatch all episodes and reviewing the movie I am not very interested in doing just yet but then it hit me, Why not the videogames?
So here is my review of “Digimon World” for the Playstation.
The game is based on the original Digimon concept by Akiyoshi Hongo and takes place on File Island, The games protaganist is the young boy Hiro (Japanese for Hero) and his partner Agumon/Gabumon.
The story centers around Hiro and his partner Digimon trying to restore “Digimon City” to it’s former glory by returning the lost and wild Digimon to their homes and have them rebuild the city again, but evil forces tries prevent them from succeding.
Personally I have always loved this game, It was uniqe, it was Digimon and best of all it was HARD! I have never been able to come any longer than Mt Infinity, after I enter that cave I can progress and that is part of why the game is still so good, I am still trying to beat it.
The formula for the game is very interesting, You have to raise your Digimon very carefully inorder to grow strong enough to beat the game by feeding him, puting him to bed, train and make him go to the toilet which is not something I have seen in any other game and you have to keep him happy while also keeping up the dicipline.
One thing that is unfortunate is the fact that this game came out before the Mega/Ultimate level was introduced so you can only achive the Ultimate/Perfect level in this game but considering how difficult that is I think that is too bad but acceptable.
I will give this game an 7.5/10 The design is incredible for its time and the story is very good all thou a bit short and the gameplay is difficult enough to keep you playing for a while.
Takuya Reviews “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed”

I am a very average Star Wars fan, I have seen all the movies and I am following the Clone Wars animated series but I have never read a Star Wars comic book before and neither have I played the game that this comic is based on so I had very little knowledge before picking this up.
I was pleasantly surprised, the Story is set after Episode III and it answers a few questions that I think a lot of fans have asked since that movie came out and it acts a bit like a bridge between Episode III and Episode IV.
The main character is a young Sith codenamed “Starkiller” and the story is about his missions to exterminate the last surviving Jedi Knights by order of Darth Vader.
Two other characters that are important to the Story are Starkiller’s training droid Proxy that is designed to try to kill him every chance he gets but also to serve him and doing tasks like store information and give him recorded messages from Lord Vader and the Imperial pilot Juno Eclipse whose job is to take Starkiller to the destination of his missions.
Story: The story is very interesting and as I said before it answers a few questions about the period between Episode III and IV so I think any fan of Star Wars will enjoy this book. 7/10
Art: I don’t know who the artist is but the art style is amazingly detailed and I love how things like the light speed effect from the movies made it into the book as well as the
incredible landscapes for the different planets. 9/10
Characters: The main characters Starkiller, Proxy and Eclipse are all interesting in their own way and they fulfill the roles of known Star Wars archetypes without being 1 Dimensional.
I like that we see more of a ruthless Darth Vader in this and his battles look very good. 7/10
Overall it is a good read and any Star Wars fan could pick this up and enjoy it pretty easily.
Score: 7.5/10
Takuya Reviews Aladdin

Aladdin is a 1992 American animated family film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Aladdin was the 31st animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, and was part of the Disney film era known as the Disney Renaissance.
The film centers around the life and adventures of the young man Aladdin and his attempts to impress the beautiful princess Jasmine with the help of an enchanted lamp with a powerful genie inside and later his attempt to rescue Jasmine from the evil wizard Jafar.
This is another Disney movie that I have always had in one form or another and I am very happy about it since it is a great movie to have and I loved watching it when I was a kid.
The reason why I like this movie is the adventure and magic that is essential to the world of Aladdin and the fact that so much is possible in the movie that isn’t possible in the real world and it is a good love story that is well written.
The movie has been described as a satire of a Disney movie because of the humor and use of pop culture references since most Disney movies are mostly fairy tales that are taken seriously.
The Story gets 8/10
it is a great story that is well told and for a Disney movie it is a surprise ending which is a breath of fresh air as far as I am concerned but the story like most movies are not perfect .
The Music gets 7/10
great songs but not all of them are as good as the rest and the underscore is not the best I have heard from a Disney movie.
The Characters gets 9/10
Aladdin a street child that is destined to enter the “Cave of wonders” and then retrieve the magical lamp containing the genie, why I like Aladdin is because he is someone who wants a better life and he has good reason for it and he steals but he has a conscience that keeps him from stealing from other with the same problem.
Jasmine is the beautiful princess that is dissatisfied with her palace life and wants to change the way things are done, why I like her is because she speaks her mind and isn’t really afraid to have an opinion.
The genie is a character that has been imprisoned and alone for 10.000 years and all that he wants is to be free and to be able to do whatever he wants instead of being forced to grant wishes.
The Art gets 10/10
I haven’t found any animation errors in this movie and the movie is beautifully animated with a unique style that makes it stand out among all the Disney movies
The movie itself gets 8/10 I hope you have enjoyed this review and that you will come back to read more
a great movie that deserves the reputation it has as one of Disney’s greatest movies.
Takuya Reviews Batgirl: Rising

Batgirl: Rising tells the story of how the girl Stephanie Brown becomes the fourth Batgirl after the third Cassandra Cain retires and leaves Gotham.
Stephanie tries her best to handle being Batgirl but when even the civilians of Gotham knows that she is not the “real” Batgirl it is not an easy task but having the original Batgirl Barbra Gordon on your side is a big help.
The story gives us a good view on both Stephanie Brown and Barbara Gordon’s personalities which I thought was good because I was not familiar with Barbara as “Oracle” so I needed that in order to understand more of the then current DC Universe and Stephanie was totally new for me since I only knew her name and a tiny bit of the history about her from Wikipedia.
Other characters that appear are Dick Grayson as Batman and Damian Wayne as Robin V and I liked how they interacted with Batgirl and Oracle since it was not a very happy relation since Dick was against another “Rookie” in Gotham and Damian kept insulting Stephanie every chance he got.
I live in Sweden and we don’t get much I the way of comic books except imports that are quite expensive and I don’t have enough money to buy all the ones that I want to read but I can say that this is one of the better series that I have decided to get and I really like both Stephanie and Barbara in the book so now I have a better idea on what I will look for.
The art gets 8/10
Story gets 9/10
And the book overall gets 8.5/10
definitely worth picking up and I look forward to reading the continuation in Batgirl: The Flood
Takuya Reviews Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the beast was released November 22, 1991 by Walt Disney Pictures and it is their 30th animated feature film and it is based on the fairy tale “La Belle et la Bête” by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont.
The film is the third animated feature released during a period known as the “Disney Renaissance”, which began in 1989 with “The Little Mermaid” and ended in 1999 with “Tarzan”. Many animated films following its release have been influenced by its blending of traditional animation and computer generated imagery.
The film centers around a prince who is transformed into a Beast and a young woman named Belle whom he imprisons in his castle. To become a prince again, the Beast must love Belle and win her love in return, or he will remain a Beast forever.
This movie has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember and I have always had a copy of it first on VHS and later DVD.
The reason why I like this movie is because the characters are relatable, the morale of the story is great and the movie is well done even if it has its flaws just like everything else.
The movies biggest flaws in my opinion is the running time of 90 minutes which I think is too short in this case and the many tiny animation errors that come from the movie being done in two years instead of the normal three years.
The story gets 8/10
the story has a few minor flaws that is noticeable after watching the movie a few times like the seasons going from summer, autumn, winter and then to spring in during the movie even thou it is only a few days or weeks.
These flaws are like I said noticeable but since it is a kid’s movie and they gave an explanation for it in the “Making of” I don’t mind it.
The Music gets 9/10
the music by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman is part of why the movie is as good as it is the songs are funny, pleasant to the ear and integral to the story.
The Characters 7/10
Belle is a beautiful young woman that is misunderstood by the people in her home town and she dreams of adventure, I love this character because she is easy to relate to.
Beast the spoiled and selfish prince cursed to have his outside match his inside until he can fall in love with someone and make her fall in love with him, this character is interesting because of the enormous changes he goes through.
The rest of the cast is either imaginative and very original or underdeveloped.
The Art 9/10
this is one of Disney’s most beautiful movies since it blends traditional and computer animation flawlessly and the effects are simply beautiful to look at.
I give the movie itself 8.5/10 it has flaws but that won’t stop me from putting it on my “Favorite movies of all time” list.
I hope you have enjoyed this review and I hope you will come back for my next review.
